The name “Pasto” comes from the latin word pasto meaning marijuana. Pasto Chris was raised around the wrong choices, but walked the straight and narrow path with a good mind. Influenced by 90’s and 2010’s hip hop, Pasto’s music brings the experiences he had growing up with hard decisions to life.. Pasto shares stories of love, hunger for money, and above all loyalty in which he plays the role of the underdog.
Pasto Chris was born and raised in the city of Springfield, MA, moving between neighborhoods. At a young age, Christian Garcia-Nieves learned the truth of life early, but used the knowledge the wrong way. Exposed to performing arts in elementary school he began to grow a love towards music and the arts. Although not picking up a pen until the age of 15 he gained performance experience in his youth. Going through trial and error it wasn’t until 18 that Pasto began to pursue his love for music.
